Life goes on, though not quite the way I’d like it to.
- I accidentally washed my Etymotic 6i earphones, and now the left ear is quieter than the right.
- The bike’s rear hub has finally broken. Fortunately, I had a spare wheel already assembled, so I replaced it with that. But I couldn’t fit the knobby tyre - it doesn’t fit in the frame.
- It’s raining for Līgo, so I won’t get to go for a ride. The gym, just my luck, is closed too. On the one hand, it’s good that the employees get some rest; on the other, visitors can’t relax, and whichever way you look at it, there are more of them.
- I never did get the bike tuned for the season, so I ride it as best I can. I simply can’t get away from work, which has been so intense lately that I can barely move.
- I’ve got a quarter of the house tidied up; I think I’ll manage another quarter over the holidays and weekend.
- The new Nokia charger, which lets you charge mobile phones from a bicycle dynamo, is already being sold in bicycle-oriented regions such as China. They say people manage to buy things on the Taobao auction site, where everything is in Chinese and delivery is only available within China, even clothes. But I think I’ll wait until Nokia releases the device in the US, since I don’t need it urgently. Though I really want it - the ultimate solution to all my mobile power problems on long journeys.
